Entry requirements and Prerequisites

Is this course right for you?

An individual undertaking this course with Caring Alliance will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment.

• Have successfully completed Year 10 (or equivalent); higher levels of schooling are an advantage.

• Demonstrate basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to meet course requirements (an LLN assessment may be conducted prior to enrolment).

• Provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) number.

• Be willing and physically able to undertake work placement in an aged care or disability support setting.

• Meet relevant industry compliance requirements, which may include:

• National Police Check

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Working with Children Check (if applicable)

• Up-to-date immunisations (as required by placement providers)

Units of Competency

Upon successful completion you’ll be provided a Completion Certificate. As part of this course, you will also be provided Statement of Attainment for following units of competencies:

- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

- HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control

You will also be required to undertake 120 hours of supervised work placement in the aged care, disability and/or home care facilities.

Delivery Modes

The course is delivered in the blended mode: online and on-campus (for practical simulation). You will be provided with Learner Guides Assessment Workbook and helpful resources. You will also be required to attend our practical training facility that simulates the real-life aged care and disability support facility.

Credit Transfer & RPL

As this is not an accredited qualification, so the RPL or credit transfer is not available for this course.
