3. National Police Check & Working with Children Check (if required)
4. Basic English and numeracy skills (LLN assessment may apply)
Certificate IV:

Yes! Both Certificate III and Certificate IV require a minimum of 120 hours of practical work placement in an approved aged care or community setting.
Most students complete placements through Caring Alliance’s partner facilities, but you may arrange your own if it meets course requirements.
- Certificate III: 6 to 12 months (depending on full-time or part-time study).
- Certificate IV: 6 to 12 months (varies based on experience and study mode).

Yes! The course includes HLTHPS006 – Assist Clients with Medication, allowing you to assist with medication under supervision.

If you are unable to complete the course within the specified 1-year timeframe, you may be eligible for an extension. Extensions are subject to approval, and additional fees may apply.
If you’re unable to attend class in person due to distance or other reasons, we offer flexible study options. However, certain classes, like First Aid and Manual Handling (for Certificate IV and AIN), must be attended physically. We can provide support for your learning outside of scheduled classes as much as possible.
The course content is designed to be accessible to everyone, and no prior health or nursing background is required.
